Job Description

On occasion, we selectively seek individuals who not only have an exceptional track record at other investment banking or other professional service firms, but also exhibit outstanding personal qualities as well. We are a growing firm that hires professionals on an as-needed basis, rather than pursuant to a schedule.

Lateral hires consist of Vice Presidents and above, or at times, a senior Associate nearing a Vice President-level asssignment. We recruit for talent, integrity, enthusiasm, loyalty and a hands-on entrepreneurial spirit.  We are interested only in corporate finance individuals who have executed numerous investment banking transactions such as private placements, M&A's and financial restructurings, and who understand the importance of building long-term client relationships.

Senior candidates generally consist of a minimum of 12-15 years of direct investment banking experience with strong focus on mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings and/or institutional capital raises. This includes hands-on experience in managing the full life-cycle of a transaction including the due diligence process, negotiations, and successfully driving and structuring transactions to a successful completion. Senior candidates should possess one or more industry vertical specialty and have a strong network and contact base within the financing investment community.

Vice President candidates typically have at least 8 - 10 years of direct investment banking experience as a significant member of a deal team with a successful track record of transactional completions with mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings and/or private placements. Vice Presidents will have demonstrated experience in negotiating and communicating complex transactional structures, and complex financial issues and will manage day-to-day aspects of multiple client projects.

Responsibilities of the Vice President includes working directly with Managing Directors and managing the execution of transactions start to finish, including investor interaction and client relations. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute, supervise, mentor and oversee the work product of Associates and Analysts in conducting financial modeling, valuation analysis, pitchbook production support and detailed offering memoranda.

Required experience for lateral hires includes:
  • Key involvement in driving business development activities
  • Significant Corporate Finance experience managing deals unsupervised
  • Experience presenting to clients with involvement in pitches to win work
  • Ability to develop, coach and motivate junior members of the team
  • Established relationships within the investment community
  • Strong financial and business diagnostic skills
  • History of completing institutional corporate and structured finance transactions
