Job Description

From time to time, our members will consider hiring Analysts. The \'Analyst\' role is typically a lateral move from another investment banking or professional service firm. Lexington provides its Analysts with the hands-on experience that gives them a strong foundation in the skills they need to begin a successful Associate career in investment banking.

Unique Opportunity
The focus of Analysts’ time is spent working within small, focused teams on merger and acquisition assignments, financial restructuring engagements and/or private placement opportunities. Analysts are often able to work across more than one of Lexington\'s business practices over the course of the Analyst lifecycle and will have an integral role working on multiple projects at any one time.

Responsibilities
Analysts are an integral member of our firm. Analysts are exposed to the full life-cycle of a transaction from initial evaluation through closing documentation. Analyst will interface regularly with professionals at all levels within the firm, as well as directly with clients and investors. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing financial and operating information for private and public companies
  • Contributing to the development of marketing and confidential information memoranda (PPM)
  • Creating exhibits that analyze comparative financial performance
  • Researching and analyzing industry and market trends
  • Assisting with collection and review of due diligence materials
  • Analyzing transactions in the industry and maintaining a database of these analyses
  • Building financial models to value companies and predict the financial results
  • Organizing and conducting financial and valuation analysis (including comparable research)
  • Preparing pitch books for prospect meetings
  • Making recommendations and presentations to senior management  

Analyst-level candidates would be expected to have an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics along with computer proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Completion of an Analyst training program at a bulge bracket firm is highly desirable. Outstanding written and oral communication skills required. Licenses, Certifications, CFA program and experience working with tools such as FactSet, Cap IQ, Reuters Knowledge, Mergerstat and/or Bloomberg a definite plus. Salesmanship and public speaking skills required.

You must have a strong work-ethic and desire to learn and succeed continuously, as well as  the ability to work under pressure to reach deadlines and to use creative problem-solving skills. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of work experience in similiar role with an investment bank or significant finance and accounting experience with a professional service firm or commercial lending institution.
